Our ostrich handler had so much knowledge. We learned that an ostrich has 2 toes; the small one keeps the ostrich balanced, and the large one is its defensive toe.  It is capable of killing a human being.  It only kicks forward, so you are safe if beside or behind the ostrich. One fact that Matt remembered was that an ostrich's brain weighed 30 grams, and its eyes weighed 60!
